It’s main event time! Thor: Ragnarok, the third installment in Marvel’s Thor storyline, was released last weekend. It’s been called the best Thor film to date by critics and viewers alike and has received surprising rave reviews. But can the Asgardian-centric franchise, which began in 2011, compare to fresher, wittier, and more daring space epics like Guardians of the Galaxy?

My The internet’s boyfriend Tom Hiddleston turned 36 last Thursday, and in true Tom fashion, he had the […]

It’s no secret that I love Tom Hiddleston. We’re obviously meant for each other. I’ve been crushing on him since Return to Cranford (that’s right, I’m a pre-Thor Tom hipster), and I haven’t looked back since.
Tom has quite a few exciting projects coming up, including the long-awaited gothic romance Crimson Peak, the Hank Williams biopic I Saw The Light, High Rise, and The Night Manager (co-starring Hugh Laurie). He will also begin filming for Kong: Skull Island soon, and I can’t say I’ve ever looked forward to anything starring a giant gorilla until now.
At any rate, no matter where he is filming, what he is promoting, or what premiere he is attending, Tom always finds a way to melt my heart or make me squee (usually both at the same time).

It feels like yesterday that I began reading the newest Thor arc, in which a mysterious woman picked up Mjolnir and became the Goddess of Thunder. Back in October, I speculated about the true identity of Thor—a question that went unanswered until Thor #8, released on May 13.
Spoilers ahead!

We’re two years away from Ragnarök, Thor’s next big screen adventure, but if Age of Ultron’s got you impatient, then the comics have got you covered. published Thor #80-85 in 2004 during Avengers Disassembled, a crossover event that put our band of heroes through the ringer. These Avengers weren’t so dissimilar from their cinematic counterparts. Iron Man, Captain America, and Hawkeye were present, along with Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Ant-Man, whom we’re just now getting to know. I want to talk about the Norse god though, but I should warn you that to discuss Ragnarök is to discuss spoilers. Beyond this point there is only doom.
