The burn may be slow, but we are finally getting a feel for the overarching themes and underlying motivations for season 5 of Once Upon a Time. The fourth episode spent the majority of its screen time in Camelot, providing the much-awaited backstories we need in order to continue.
As we say in Spanish: se complica la cosa! Simply put, “the plot thickens.” The third episode of season 5 of Once Upon a Time is full of intrigue, heartbreak, and questionable alliances. Oh, and my new favorite bromance.
Once upon a time, a young blogger was entranced by a tale of love, intrigue, magic, and destiny. This is the story of how she fell down the rabbit hole.
Basically, Once Upon a Time continues to keep me riveted to my seat. We’re two episodes into season 5, and things are already out of control (in totally awesome magical ways, of course). If you’re behind, you can catch up on ABCGo. What are you waiting for?
Once Upon a Time‘s 5th season premiered on Sunday, and needless to say, I was on the edge of my seat along with approximately 5.8 million other people. I’ve been chomping at the bit ever since the season 4 finale cliffhanger—even more so since we got a sneak peek at Comic Con in July, where we learned more about the Dark Swan, as well as the impending parallel storyline of Merida.
The premiere did not disappoint, introducing us to twists and turns from the start. Read more if you dare, dearie!
Yes, after a summer off from reccing fanfic, I have returned to you, my faithful followers of my fleet of ships. I hope you enjoyed the Collectiva Diva’s recs over the past ten weeks or so, but no fear, I’ve been doing my reading and I have a lovely list of fics to rec to you over the next few months. Let me also draw your attention to the lovely header that my dear Collected Mutineer has created for Fanfic Wednesday. Swoon away.
Now, before I jump into my review of this week’s fic, let me explain the need for my hiatus from reccing. I took on a big task this summer: I participated in not one but two Big Bang fanfic challenges and I needed the time to write. However, from this mighty task came several fanfics to rec! My first BB extravaganza was the After Camlann challenge, which is for the BBC Merlin fandom. The requirements for this challenge were to create a story with a length of at least 25,000 words, from which the artist you were paired with would draw inspiration for their works. The best part about participating in this challenge was reading the other participants’ fics and swooning over the art, and one of the first I read also happens to be my favourite. Allow me to introduce you to the Merlin/Warm Bodies fusion.
