Hello shippers, and happy New Year! As another holiday gift from me to you, and to celebrate the fact that Sherlock is FINALLY returning, I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite Johnlock fics.
So if man love between a consulting detective and an army doctor isn’t for you, you may want to look elsewhere.
Click on the title for a link to the fic. I’ve also included fics that I’ve recced in the past, because, well, why not.
Author’s Summary: Sherlock is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Warning: angst like whoa.
My Thoughts: The best fanfiction I’ve ever read. Period. Read my full review here.
Author’s Summary: They’d never talked about sex in the year they’d known each other. Well, that wasn’t quite correct: Sherlock had never said a word about sex; John had bemoaned his personal dearth of it on many occasions.
My Thoughts: The most infamous fic in the Johnlock fandom, and I only read it because of the recommendation by the Collectiva Diva, Queen of Smut. The chemistry between John and Sherlock is practically tangible, but I really only have one thing to say about this one: Cinnamon.
Season 8 has a lot to do with Purgatory, the Trials and getting the angels off the trail of the Winchesters. And then we meet the Men of Letters; a group of academics who research and gather information about the supernatural and then share the information with an elite group of hunters. They also cease to exist in the 1950s when they are wiped out by the powerful demon, Abaddon, a knight of Hell. The Winchester boys are connected by blood to this organization and they find this out from their time traveling grandfather, Henry Winchester–who inexplicably pops out of a closet and into Sam and Dean’s motel room in 2013. Family hijinx ensue.
S01xE20 AKA The Episode Where Vampires Really Do Exist and The Colt is the Most Dangerous Gun in Existence
“Sorry. I never really stay with a chick that long. Definitely not eternity.”
“Yeah, well maybe that worked when we were kids, but not anymore, all right? Not after everything you and I have been through, Dean. I mean are you tellin’ me you’re cool with just followin’ the line and lettin’ him run the whole show?”
The Winchester boys are on the hunt for a nest of vampires that killed another hunter, who just so happened to be John Winchester’s former mentor. When John shows up in the middle of Sam and Dean’s hunt, he reveals that the vampires took something besides the hunter’s life: a gun that can kill anything. The three work together to destroy the nest and retrieve the weapon that could kill the yellow-eyed demon once and for all.
