Every fashionista knows, good jewelry can be the statement piece you need to bring together an outfit. While there are many options out there for chic geeks, here are some of my favorite and nerdiest high fashion pieces from all across the interwebs.

Always a fan of the Her Universe franchise, I love this simple, vintage design that reminds me of a version of my grandmother’s brooch and hairpin collection with a geeky twist.

Last weekend, I stumbled across a t-shirt that changed everything. I love a good nerdy t-shirt, but I was completely unawares that nerd culture, a force to be reckoned with, was beginning to permeate sportswear. That’s right, you can now get nerdy sports stuff and flaunt your awesomeness at a game or at the gym. Why buy a boring, polyester microfiber shirt that looks just like everyone else’s when you can stand out as a proud nerd instead? Without further ado, here are seven kick-ass geek chic items that combine nerdiness and sports.

1.) Real Madrid Empire Crossover t-shirt

real madrid empire
Fan Official t-shirt, $25.95

AKA the shirt that spawned an exhaustive internet search last week. I am a huge Real Madrid fan, and who doesn’t love Star Wars? This was the best crossover I’d seen in a long time, and it got me wondering about other potential nerd + sports clothing. This shirt is limited, and you can only place orders until September 27. Move it or lose it!

One of the reasons I love blogging is that I get to share all the amazing things I find on the internet, at conventions, or just when I move about life in general. A while back, I became acquainted with the Etsy shop of a Twitter friend, Ally (Tadeudz), and her jewelry is so lovely that I immediately contacted her with a request for a commissioned piece. She made me a lovely Black Widow inspired necklace that I’ve worn practically nonstop since receiving it.

Let me tell you a bit about Ally and her shop, Tadeudz Creations. Ally began making jewelry in early 2014 after a discouraging search online for a Supernatural charm bracelet. “Of the ones I found, none fitted the aesthetic I had in mind; most were very plain or masculine looking. I wanted something that would show off my nerd passion but would also be feminine and pretty to look at,” says Ally.

I know, I know. On Wednesdays we write about Winchesters. You can all tweet your disappointment at me later. I got sidetracked, okay? It’s the end of term for me, and I wrote a 17 page essay in six hours today. So instead of blogging about Winchester angst, I decided I need to do something a little cuter and fluffier.

Let me tell you about Baby Slytherin.

My brother recently phoned me (while I was in a crowded restaurant no less!) and told me that in a few months, I’d be Auntie Collectress. Yes, coming summer 2015 is the affectionately (and somewhat biasedly) named Baby Slytherin. So like any good auntie, I immediately took to the interwebs to find cute baby clothes. Here are my Harry Potter favourites for the geek chic wee wizard, and just in time for Christmas.

There comes a time in a girl’s life when she realizes that the zombie apocalypse could happen any day, and there’s no way she wants to spend her life amongst the undead without a bit of style. (Just because I’m dead and decomposing, darling, doesn’t I have to look like People of Walmart.)

Some of these looks are inspired by The Walking Dead–Daryl Dixon has become a redneck zombie-killing fashion icon–but others are just disgustingly awesome. I’ve included the websites and prices…just in case you want to get zombified.

First off, if you want to blend in with the zombie horde, but don’t particularly want to rub blood and intestines all over yourself, consider purchasing this hoodie.

For the person concerned about surviving the apocalypse, this tee should help you remember the motto of apocalypse survivors everywhere: What Would Daryl Do

And for the zombie who likes footsie pajamas. Remember that as a member of the undead, you poor circulation and are quite likely to get cold.
