MCM_ComicCon_London_h

This spring’s MCM Comic Con, held at the ExCel in London, welcomed 122,634 visitors over the course of the weekend, making it larger by 10,000 visitors than the previous convention held last October. Last time I attended, I was merely an attendee–there for the fun and cosplay. This spring, I attended as a member of the press with all that perks that entailed: namely, spending most of my Saturday in the press room with twenty other reporters, trying to get the attention of celebrities. While it is difficult to make oneself heard in such a crowd in such a short time period (each interview session lasted approximately 20 minutes), it quickly became apparent that most of us news outlets had a common mission: to emphasize diversity and inclusion in mainstream media and culture.

Episode 10×18 or “The One Where Charlie Meets Cas”

So far this season: Dean’s been cured from demonism; Crowley was his BFF; Cas was losing his grace until Crowley saved him; and Sam has done his best to reign in Dean’s homicidal tendencies. Claire Novak has also reappeared and swears she doesn’t need a father figure. Cain has confirmed that there is no cure for the Mark. And Crowley has a incredibly powerful sorceress for a mother? Spoilers ahead.

With all the “Dick” jokes we get during S7, it is refreshing to get a dose of girl power and with that, a character that isn’t trying to sex up one of our boys. Instead, Charlie Bradbury reflects some of the cooler women of the Supernatural fandom. We’re not all like Becky, Moose! In this episode, we meet Charlie, and with her hacker skills, video game/role playing obsessions, Lord of the Rings references, and a quick wit that keeps even Dean Winchester guessing, I was smitten with her as soon as she started snooping through her boss’ (Dick Roman, king Leviathan) files, after consulting the Hermione Granger bobble head for advice, or course.
