During The Boys‘ season 2 Comic-Con At Home panel, it was announced by executive producer Seth Rogen that the series had an early pick-up for a third season, much to the delight of the show’s creator, Eric Kripke, and the show’s cast.

It’s been a while since I posted. I could tell you it’s because I’ve been working double time to make sure I don’t get furloughed, or that I’ve been sewing masks every spare moment for our medical workers and my high-risk friends and family. Really, I think the truth is that it’s because of what I’m calling “quarantigue” AKA that feeling you get when you’ve been stuck inside for 39 days and you no longer remember what day of the week it is.
Hello, Collectors, it’s been a while.
Okay, maybe not 84 years, but it certainly feels like decades have passed since the “shelter in place” order was given in California, where I live. The world changed overnight, it seemed, and it seems like every day is a bad news day with the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I’m here to tell you, with a little help from John Krasinski, that it’s not all bad news everywhere. (Okay, a lot of help from John Krasinski.)
It’s a scary world right now.
Many of us, myself included, are afraid to go outside. Many people still have to go outside, even though it’s putting themselves at direct risk of contracting COVID-19. Economies are plummeting, businesses are closing, and it seems every thirty seconds there’s news of something else being cancelled.
The only thing we can’t cancel, it seems, is 2020.

Before I begin talking about Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, I want to address something that’s a little personal. You may have noticed that I’ve been less active on this blog, and on all my social media, of late. While this is partially due to real-life work and personal obligations, a great deal of it has to do with my personal health. I’ve been seeing medical professionals for a variety of reasons, but, a few weeks ago, I made the decision to start medication for my anxiety and depression. The adjustment period has been a rough one (to say the least). Many days I find it hard to do much of anything besides take a nap on my sofa, or binge-watch a mindless TV show.
Which, to make a long story extremely short, is how I found Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and realized that it was just what I needed during my current mental health state.
Y’all, this post was supposed to be exclusively about the return of Westworld, but then I fell down the Youtube rabbit hole and…here we are. I’m excited about the return of some of my favorite shows and quite a few upcoming movies, so without further ado, here we go. Jump down the rabbit hole with me.
In this year’s crop of Best Picture nominations, there are the expected choices: the epic war drama, the Scorsese film, the powerhouse drama, the WWII film (although this one is rather insouciant), but, Parasite is quite unlike its contemporaries in that its scathing look at modern capitalism forces its audience to hold up a mirror to themselves, and we’re probably not going to like what we see.
