It’s the final day of D23 2022, and the internet has been in a tizzy for the entire weekend about all the latest Disney, Marvel, and Lucasfilm news. We’ve been watching the newly released trailers non-stop for the past 48 hours straight, and we thought we’d compile the ones we’re most excited for into one post for y’all. And, for your convenience, they’re in order by release date.
You’re welcome. 🙂
She-Hulk (Currently Airing)
Marvel Studios gave us a glimpse into what to expect for the rest of She-Hulk. Expect more Titania, more hulking out, and….dun dun dun…DAREDEVIL! I pity my neighbors when Charlie Cox appears on screen because I’ll definitely shriek.
Andor (21 September 2022)
You hear that sound? That high-pitched ringing? That’s me, screaming across the universe that Diego Luna will be back on my screen in less than two weeks. Yeah, yeah there’s plenty of other stuff I can mention about Andor, and I probably will when the show airs, but for now, let me just bask in the beauty of Diego Luna, ok?
Hocus Pocus 2 (30 September 2022)
Sisters! It is time form a calming circles because our favorite witches are BACK! Booooooook!
Werewolf by Night (7 October 2022)
Directed and composed by Michael Giacchino, this Marvel special stars Gael Garcia Bernal, and it’s just in time for spooky Halloween season. If you’re a Loki fan, the TVA is also slated to make an appearance in the special (tie-ins to Loki season 2, anyone?)
Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi (26 October 2022)
Set in the time of Episodes I-III, Tales of the Jedi is an anthology series that delve into the histories of Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) and young Count Dooku. Dave Filoni hasn’t disappointed ever with his Star Wars stories, so this one is a safe bet that it’ll be just as successful as its predecessors.
Disenchanted (24 November 2022)
The sequel to Enchanted hits Disney+ in late November, just in time to put it on the television to drown out your family’s political squabbles during the holidays. Hard to debate politics when Amy Adams bursts into song and dance, eh?
Willow (30 November 2022)
If you’re a 80s/90s child, you probably grew up with the fantasy film Willow. Well, good news! Willow is back and he’s ready to spread some joy and kick some ass once again.
The Little Mermaid (26 May 2023)
This one is long-awaited!!! With new music from Alan Menken and Lin Manuel Miranda, the retelling of everyone’s favorite mermaid is already making a big splash among fans. Halle Bailey has the voice of an angel, and we cannot wait to be part of her world.
The Mandalorian Season 3 (February 2023)
Y’all ready for more hot space dad and his too-cute-to-be-real adopted son? (Also…MORE BO-KATAN!!!) And perhaps we cross our fingers for more Uncle Boba Fett and Auntie Fennec Shand because found family is the best family.
Secret Invasion (Spring 2023)
After several years, Nick Fury returns to Earth to avert yet another superpowered disaster. Secret Invasion promises action, intrigue…and probably a lot of people punching things. Also, y’all, Emilia Clarke is now in the MCU and they better do better by her than Game of Thrones did or we riot.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Late 2023? Early 2024? Who knows)
This is one of my favorite series of books, and I am so glad that Disney decided to do a full streaming series based on the Percy Jackson & the Olympians pentalogy. The only thing I’m bummed about is that we have to wait so long for it!!!
What Disney shows/films are you most excited for? Tell us in the comments!
