My Thoughts

I’ve never written about it for The Collective, but Rurouni Kenshin is one of my favorite animes—nay, one of my favorite TV shows—ever. I’ve seen it through multiple times and each time, my heart wrenches itself in two because of Kenshin and Kaoru.

There was never a satisfactory ending for me when it came to this pairing (and no, we’re not gonna talk about the travesty of the OVAs), but thankfully that’s what fanfiction is for. In this story, we get a glimpse of what their life might have been like in the event that Kenshin finally feels like he can provide for her and gets the guts to ask for her hand in marriage.

This fic is the perfect amount of fluff, canon-compliance, and romance; and it’s just the sort of content I want in my life as 2020 comes to a close. If you always wanted to read a Kenshin/Kaoru wedding fic (plus a little bit of **spice**) then this is the story for you. Happy Reading!
