Author’s Summary

Jaskier is throwing up flowers and refuses to tell Geralt who has afflicted him so. As Geralt grapples with Jaskier’s impending death, he comes to terms with a few things himself.

My Thoughts

You had to know this was coming.

Strong, broody, stoic man paired with a mouthy blonde-ish smartass…it’s like catnip for my shipping soul. You look at my shipping history and you’ll definitely notice a trend toward shipping couples that are emotionally constipated and have their heads so far up their asses, that they can’t see what’s in front of them.

…Which is basically the premise of this story. Jaskier is afflicted with Hanahaki Disease–a fictional illness where the sickness stems from unrequited love, and causes the afflicted to cough up flower petals. Geralt, of course, wants to kill whoever doesn’t return Jaskier’s affections because he’s too self-involved to know his own feelings.

Oh, the tropes.
