Collective fam, the time has finally come. Nearly a decade after making her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, is now the star of her own feature film. Check out the highly anticipated teaser trailer below!

For years, fans have speculated whether or not the stealthy assassin-turned-Avenger would be the focus of her own movie, in the same way that most of her male counterparts have been. Articles circulated on various occasions with rumors of a script being written, and Scarlet Johansson recently confirmed that they had indeed been talking about making Black Widow for as long as she’d been part of the Marvel family. The trailer doesn’t reveal a whole lot, being a teaser and all, but it does give us some morsels of information. We know that the film isn’t necessarily an origin story, but will undoubtedly contain various flashbacks. Set before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, the plot appears to follow Natasha on a mysterious quest with not her Avengers pals, but her old Russian comrades. We’ll finally get to meet Yelena Belova, the Red Guardian, and others who were central to Natasha’s story pre-Avengers. We also caught a glimpse of the Taskmaster, who will likely be the main antagonist. (Also, DID YOU SEE THAT WHITE SUIT?)

We’ll undoubtedly be writing some more in-depth posts about the trailer and the film itself. In the meantime, here’s to hoping Marvel has done our girl proud.
