Yes, fellow human/human fella, you read that title correctly! Hot on the heels of the premiere of their second season comes the announcement that The Dragon Prince will indeed continue its run on Netflix. At this last weekend’s WonderCon 2019 , the showrunners cleverly told the audience of the renewal through a skit performed by some of the voice actors on the panel.
The third season will be comprised of nine episodes, and the official press releases provided the following synopsis:
Season 3 finds Rayla and Callum finally at the cusp of entering Xadia, while young Ezran returns home to take his place on the throne. Meanwhile, Lord Viren begins to realize the influence and power of his new ally – the mysterious Startouch elf, Aaravos. As several storylines unfold in big ways, this season will be massively epic.
We do not have a trailer or release date yet, but the panel reiterated their promise from earlier in the year: there’s a lot to the story, and they aren’t done telling it. Not much else was gleaned from the panel in terms of forthcoming episodes, but I’m confident that we will continue to enjoy this show for several more seasons.
Seasons 1 and 2 of The Dragon Prince are available to stream on Netflix.
