My Thoughts:
After getting some bad news from back home, Jayne decides to cheer Kaylee up with a drink or ten. The two bond and giggle at each other adorably. Drunken fluff is always a good time when it comes to fanfic. This one especially. It allows hints of a pairing without a full commitment.
Kaylee’s crush on Simon was adorable in Firefly, but I always thought her and Jayne were a better fit. Mostly because Simon is such a wet blanket and a snob. Plus, all the family issues made him blind to anything else.
Jayne’s crush on Kaylee was much subtler in the series. Just enough for me to latch onto it and want to find some fanfic where she doesn’t end up with the good doc.
