There’s a lot going on in the world—and yes, I realize that’s the understatement of the century. When I’m feeling discouraged, I listen to this speech from satirical 1940 film The Great Dictator, in which Charlie Chaplin delivers an impassioned cry for humanity to rise up together against tyranny. In fact, I’ll let him do the talking. May you find the passion and courage to continue to do good in the world, no matter what.
“The soul of man has been given wings, and at last he is beginning to fly. He is flying into the rainbow – into the light of hope, into the future, the glorious future that belongs to you, to me, and to all of us.”
