For some reason, it took me until last week to watch Girls Trip (2017) and man, do I love this movie! The plot is simple; four friends reunite after some time apart to head down to New Orleans and the annual Essence Festival, which is a real thing. What follows is a hilarious, heartwarming, raunchy tale of friendship, expectations and womanhood that has the ability to make viewers laugh out loud at one turn and tear up at the honesty of it all at the next. As you know, I am all about supporting Black Film, and Girls Trip features some of the most popular and funny black women in movies right now. Big ups to my girl Jada Pinkett, who looks amazing STILL. Also, if you haven’t watched Tiffany Haddish in action, homegirl is HILARIOUS!
