DC enthusiast either love or hate Teen Titans Go! (I’m in the love category, btw).  The Cartoon Network series can be a bit much to take with the quirky, supremely juvenile brand of humor, self-commentary, and fandom trolling.  But no fan can deny the first trailer for Teen Titan Go! movie perfectly skewers the superhero genre and Warner Bros. mishandling of the DC properties.

Check out the trailer here:

I would actually see an Alfred movie.  Pre-Crisis era Alfred was kind of a badass, becoming a hero in his own right.  Both the Dark Knight Trilogy movies and the Gotham TV series have kept parts of Alfred’s origins.  But I digress…

This animated flick keeps right on the shows off-beat wit.  The group of teenage hero-wannabes are want to get a movie about themselves made.  Of course, they haven’t really done anything heroic as the Nic Cage voiced Superman points out.  And they don’t have an arch-nemesis, something all superheroes need to get a movie made.  The Quintet just might get their chance with Hollywood when Deadpool Slade arrives to cause trouble.

Teen Titans Go! To the Movies hits US theaters July 27, 2018.

The Nerdling was born in the majestic land known as Texas and currently resides there after several years of journeying through Middle Earth in a failed attempt to steal the one Ring from that annoying hobbit, serving the Galactic Empire for a time, and then a short stint as a crew member on the Serenity. Since moving back to her homeland, Nerdling flirted with a hero reputation. Saving children from the dangers of adoring domineering, sparkly vampires (champions with souls are the only vampires worth loving) and teaching normals the value of nerdom, all while rooting for her beloved Dallas Stars. Then came the Sokovia Accords and her short spell of saving others came to an end. With Darth Vader’s reputation rightfully returning to badass status, Nerdling is making her way back to the Empire.
