Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away…oh wait. Wrong franchise. Remember when The Collective and Keysmash (aka CollectiveSmash, because #weshipit) did a massive Star Wars watch-along event on both our sites? Well we’re back, this time with Star Trek. (We like stars, what can we say?) Over the course of the next few months we’ll be watching (or re-watching, if you’re already versed in this ‘verse) a selection of the Star Trek movies, and live-tweeting as we go. We’ll also have lots of Trekkie content on both sites, some collaborative and some not.
Starting November 10, the Keysmash and Collective teams will be watching 9 Star Trek films and tweeting the whole ordeal with the hashtag #ToBoldyWatch. Our adventure begins with the original 1979 film through to the current Chris Pine iteration, a feat that will take us all the way to January. We’re skipping the Next Generation films, purely because of time constraints, but we will make it up to you with copious amounts of Star Trek fanfic, fashion, fanvids and more. Most of the films can be found on Hulu, but if you don’t have the streaming service, you can rent them from Google Play or YouTube for $2.99 each. Be sure to keep updated with both The Collective and Keysmash, where we will be posting unique Star Trek content as well as working together on a few fun posts. Check out the watch schedule below and add us to your calendar.
These are the voyages of CollectiveSmash, its nine-film mission–to explore the oldest ship in fandom and to boldly go where many, many other fangirls have gone before.
