Chuck help me, this is the fake/pretend relationship trope the hockey RPF fandom didn’t know we needed. In all honesty, I’m still pissed at the Penguins, but I’ve come to love the way certain writers take these two personalities and weave intricate character studies, and so, after a couple of weeks of avoiding this pairing, I happily took it upon myself to dive right back in with this trope, this fic, this author. I’ve recced sevenfists before, because I absolutely love the way this writer examines the thought processes of characters and creates careful, realistic conversations. The dedication to concise writing, plus copious amounts of well-written smut make sevenfists a fandom favorite. Plus, when I commented on the story (which I try to do with every fic I truly adore), this is the response I received, which served to remind me that fandom belongs to the fans and creativity (plus porn) can help us through even the hardest of times.
