If you’re a fan of the true crime genre, the Law & Order franchise, or just happen to like reading about creepy murder stories on Wikipedia late at night, there’s a new show premiering in September that might be right up your dark alley.
Remember the Menendez brothers? Those guys who murdered their parents and got caught because of a ridiculous spending spree? The murder they committed, and the ensuing trial, is the focus of the first season of Law & Order True Crime.
This dramatization will explore the motive that drove the boys to kill their mother and father, and promises to finally answer the question that has fascinated people since 1989: were they murderers or victims? New evidence and witnesses that were not part of the trial prior to the brothers’ conviction and jailing in 1996 have apparently come forward, shedding more light on the story than ever before. If you’d like to learn more about the Menendez brothers prior to the show’s premiere, check out this feature that aired recently on ABC News.
Law & Order True Crime comes to NBC on September 26, 2017, and stars Edie Falco.
