My Thoughts
First of all let me say, I love this writer, and it was really difficult to pick my favorite* out of this pairing in their biblio. I decided on “Motherland” because of my obsession with Russian culture and the nuances and attention to detail in this very emotional coming out story. There is pining, there is hockey, there is smut and eventually, a happy ending (that’s a double entendre hehe), which, honestly, is all I ever ask for in a good hockey fic. I love the simple, direct writing style of this author. If you enjoy this story, I encourage you to check out the rest of their S/G fics.
* A close second for favorite is “All I Ever Wanted”. LOVE IT!
