The 2017 Her Universe Fashion Show at San Diego Comic Con has come and gone and once again, audiences were wowed by one-of-a-kind fandom friendly creations and Her Universe mastermind, Ashley Eckstein.

With a unifying theme of “the dreams that you wish can and do come true”, 25 designers worked to put together unique couture looks inspired by various fandoms, including Moana, Overlook, Stranger Things and Princess Mononoke. At the show each year, winners are chosen and awarded a clothing line with Hot Topic. Tonight, audience members were asked to vote on their favorite outfit, while celeb judges picked a second winner and, in this year’s case, a third.

Every year, the Her Universe Fashion Show is one of my favorite events to attend. It is free to all and no badge required and this year, every person in attendance walked away with a swag bag filled with goodies from Hot Topic favorites, including a Star Wars Pop Funko, a Hallmark Itty Bitty plush toy, fandom themed Hallmark greeting cards, Espionage Cosmetics fandom infused manicures and more. In fact, The Collective gals got so much stuff, we want to give some to you! If you want some Her Universe Swag, tweet @nerdwrldprblms a pic of yourself wearing a geek chic fashion look with the hashtag #CollectiveCouture and you could win some cool SDCC exclusives!
