RPDR Season 9 Is Coming (And We Can’t Wait)

By The Collectress

Alright, so it’s the most wonderful time of the year. Well, it is for RuPaul’s Drag Race fans, anyway. Season 9 is coming quickly, squirrel friends, so let’s all count down a few reasons why we’re excited.

The Queens

Okay so if you haven’t done so already, head over to Logo‘s website and check out their Meet the Queens interview series. I already have a few favorites (*cough* Valentina *cough*), but all the queens seem to be fiercer than ever.

This season has quite a few queens from Las Vegas, and also has the oldest queen to ever enter the work room (my money is also on her; experienced queens always seem to do better under pressure).  And also, can we take about their looks???

The Fashion

RPDR is one third beauty pageant, one third sewing competition, and one third crazy model bitchfest a la America’s Next Top Model. All together, there will inevitably be some stunning–and some stunningly awful–looks debuted on the runway.

One thing we can be sure of, though, is that Mama Ru will always looks fantabulous.

The Shade Of It All

I’d be lying if I said that I don’t live for the shade that’s thrown in the workroom. And the reads! Who can forget such epic insults like “Go back to Party City where you belong!” or the truly wonderous Alyssa Edwards/Coco feud that gave us, “Girl look how orange you f**king look!”

I’d also be lying if I said that I don’t mimic Tatianna’s “Choices” whenever I see a contestant with questionable fashion sense.

With such an eclectic group of queens cast this season, there promises to be many, many a catfight in the workroom. (You can’t hear me, but I’m cackling with glee).

Speaking of cat fights, most of the drama happens in the Untucked lounge. So, I’m gonna get a glass of wine and popcorn and just watch the drag queens have a verbal smackdown.

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9 premieres on March 24 on VH1 (encores will be aired on Logo).

More than likely, the Mutineer and I will be recording post-episode podcasts after a bottle of wine (or two). So, there’s that to look forward to. 😉
