The esteemed African-American poet, Maya Angelou (1928-2014) will be getting a star-studded documentary about her life and work, set to be released  October 14, 2016 in limited theatres. Thanks to Bob Hercules, Rita Coburn Whack, and their team of filmmakers, who launched a 2015 crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter and raised over $153,000 for this film. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading Maya Angelou’s work, here is a link to some of her poetry and check out the trailer below.
