It’s almost here, the biggest geek event of the year: Comic Con International 2016. This week we’re prepping you for all the things you need to know before the big event, and today I’m going to mention one of the biggest lures to the chic geek: the parties. 

So, here are a few of the events occurring in San Diego next week, and you may see a few of the Collective crew wandering about (probably in cosplay).

Wednesday 20 July

Game of Bloggers, Dragon’s Den, 9 pm-12 am

This one is a party dedicated to all the nerdy, geeky fansites you love and follow. Look closely at the guest list and you may see some familiar names. 😉

Thursday 21 July

Her Universe Fashion Show, Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, 6 pm

We had a blast at this show last year, so if fashion is your thing, you may want to stop by and check it out. SDCC badge not necessary!

MTV Fandom Awards, Petco Park, 6:30-10 pm, Free to badge holders

National Geographics’s Nerd Nite, Hotel Solamar Rooftop, Free

Carry On My Wayward Cocktails, Analog Bar, 7:3o pm, $50+

Last year at Wayward Cocktails, I had a purple nurple and shook it off live on Periscope, and then I met Robbie and Bobo and maybe fangirled all over them. So if you’d like to see that in person, meet me at the Analog Bar next Thursday.

Friday 22 July

Ghostbusters Mass-Hysteria, The Werewolf, All Day (21+ after 9 pm)

MISSION: COMIC CON, Mission Brewery, 7 pm-11:55 pm, Free

Saturday 23 July

Pokemon Go!  Meetup, Noon-1 pm, Balboa Park (OK so not ‘nightlife’, but c’mon, you know you want to)

Earper Fan Meetup, Embarcadero Marina Park South, 5:30-6:30 pm

Nerd HQ Dance the Night Away Party, New Children’s Museum, 10 pm, Free (18+)

So, I have two of these parties on my to-do list, and beyond that, well…
