Good day, Collectors!
In celebration of the beginning of the CollectiveSmash Star Wars Rewatch series, (which spans every Friday evening for the next six weeks beginning tonight!) I’ve put together a little list of Star Wars comics that you should be reading if you like Jedi and the Force and stuff. Or if you ever wondered what Han Solo would look like as a comic character.
Star Wars (2015-Present)

The series launched early this year and is now on its eleventh issue. Written by Jason Aaron, who has also done Doctor Strange and the latest Thor, the series gives new insight to the actions of the SW characters between Star Wars IV: A New Hope and Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back.
Rumor has it that we’ll get some backstory to lead straight into the upcoming Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. Perhaps we’ll learn who Kylo Ren really is. Fingers crossed.
Darth Vader (2015-Present)

The most famous (and infamous) of all Sith Lords is Darth Vader, the father of Luke and Leia Skywalker, formerly known as Anakin Skywalker. Written by Kieron Gillon, who has also worked on Uncanny X-Men and Iron Man, the series premiered in February of this year and follows the story of Darth Vader from the end of Star Wars IV: A New Hope onward. It shows the perspective of the intergalactic war from the point of view of the Dark Side, and if you love Vader, you’ll love this series. The series is currently on its twelfth issue.
Princess Leia (2015-Present)

I’ve written about this series previously, but I love it so much that I’m reccing it again. Like the other comics in the SW verse, this one also begins just after Star Wars IV: A New Hope. Princess Leia’s quest to find survivors of Alderaan takes her across the galaxy and into many dangers. Though the series is currently only five issues in length, I have hope that TPTB over at Marvel Comics will let Mark Waid (the writer) and Terry Dodson (the artist) get back to work on it soon. Maybe if we all say pretty please?
Happy reading, and may the Force be with you! (Don’t forget to watch Star Wars with us on Friday nights, 6 pm PDT/9 pm EDT!)
