There are myriad things I could tell you about today. I could write about our pampered Stormtrooper, our jam made from ill-gotten fruit, a larger-than-life book, or the awesome time the kids on our team had when the local firefighters made them a slip-and-slide.
But I won’t. Because this happened.
Day Four: From the trenches… http://t.co/GjYfUT2IC3
— Misha Collins (@mishacollins) August 6, 2014
That’s right. Misha Collins, the overlord himself, found The Collectress’s heartfelt post from yesterday, and tweeted it. Cue the temporary crash of our blog (we’ve had 13, 107 hits on that post alone in the last 8 hours), and the near crash of The Collectress to the floor.
Of course, it is awesome and rewarding that our blog is getting new readers as a result of Misha’s tweet. But I think the best part of today is knowing that Misha can see how much GISHWHES is actively changing the outlook of those of us who are participating. This week is about making people smile, regardless if its because you went to bingo dressed as a superhero or because you helped an elderly neighbor out by sweeping their porch. And The Collectress was exactly right when she said that we should carry this good intent on, even after the madness of the hunt is over. Keep on being creative and paying it forward. Don’t be afraid to be silly, or let your guard down. Communicate. Say “good morning” to a stranger. And once in a while, buy some kale. Its good for you.
Two days left, poppets. Best of luck to you all!
