Viewers of the CW’s Supernatural and Arrow can rest easy for another year or so. My two newest CW obsessions have been renewed by the network and, just like that, I am looking forward to 2015. On Twitter, the SPN boys announced the news to fans and joked about what was to come in season 10:
While fans of Arrow received a short and to the point announcement from Stephen Amell:
Ghosts, demons, angels & pie be forewarned, the Collective bloggers are looking forward to season 10 of Supernatural, but will it be the end for the Winchesters? Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have been at the same gig for a decade now, and 10 seasons is pretty damn long for any show, even one with a mytharc as baddass as Supernatural. With the way that season 9 is going and the imminent back-door pilot of Supernatural: Tribes, 10 very well may be the last season of the show. Still, the CW prez himself stated recently that, as a fan of SPN, he is willing to keep it on air as long as J2 want to stay in the family business. With new families of their own, Team Free Will might just decide to call it quits while the quitting is good. Ten seasons and a humongous fanbase is not a bad way to go out.
For Arrow fans, the good stuff is just getting started. With the upcoming (SPOILERS) introduction of “The Flash” (Barry Gustin), who will be getting his own pilot sometime this year, and a plethora of comics to go off of, Arrow has the potential to stay on the air for quite a while. Let’s just pray the writers don’t screw it up.
(Also renewed by the CW today: The Vampire Diaries, Originals and Reign. Or whatever.)
